A few choice spreads from my recent picture book The Better Bird, a philosophical story about a young girl's battle with jealousy.
The character Zee  becomes jealous when she decides a classmate has better drawing skills than her.
The story follows her as the magpie of jealousy takes over her body and turns her into a beast, eventually for her to understand that better is a term defined by the individual and to re-find a love for her own drawings again.

My images have been created using paints, inks, and digital collage.
